...End of Freshman Year... continue down for
...Canon Rebel XSi...Now that I have enough of a life to type up a journal, I shall.
I have somehow survived this first year in college. Between being the only income at home besides my father's Veteran Disability (that covers rent & not much else), having Drawing and English courses in the same schedule & on the same days & only 15 mins apart, working as many hours that I can for my ITS job on campus, contributing to the student newspaper, literary & art magazine, and Coastal Productions Board (campus events programming), as well as attempting life's neccesities, I don't know how I got through it alive and well, actually even better than well.
It is a scary and weird feeling. It almost feels great, but not quite.
I have definitely condemned myself for next year, however. I applied for and was chosen to become next year's Public Relations and Administrative Coordinator for Coastal Productions Board. It is a stipend position, meaning payment is directly applied to my tuition at the beginning of the semester. Not getting a weekly/bi-monthly type of payment is difficult, but $2880 given to me at the beginning of each semester I hold the position is worth it, I guess. I will be in charge of creating posters, flyers, and banners for the events we hold. As for the administrative side of the job, I have to keep up with the budget, put together agendas, and other duties. It will be very challenging, but I'm excited and hopeful.
Along with that lovely new appointment, I will continue to work my ITS job on campus, but will be limited to only 10 hrs/week unless more hrs can approved by CPB's advisor.
But the fun doesn't NEARLY stop there. It gets better/scarier.
Since hearing about it in the summer before this school year started, I have been wanting to get involved with the Ashes2Art program. Ashes2Art is a multi-discipline program at CCU that has students digitally recreate ancient monuments. Getting my wish, I will be taking the course in the spring if all goes well for me. BUT first, It was suggested that I take a theatre course that teaches how to use Autodesk 3DS Max, the 3D modelling program that's used in the Ashes2Art class to recreate ancient monuments. So my Fall semester will be learning that program before Ashes2Art in the Spring. Piece of cake. =_=
On top of that, I will be taking a MATH class.

Math 139- Basic Concepts of Contemporary Math. So its a 4 credit class that's a bunch of logic stuff & word problems. Meets 4 days out of the week.

On top of all that, the math class will be one of 4 classes that I take every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the Fall, and 3 of them are 10 mins apart from each other. The math class is the 2nd class, and in an entirely different building. Should be fun getting to & from that class on time.
On top of ALL THAT, I will still be contributing to the student newspaper and literary & art magazine. & the literary & art magazine class is one credit out of 18 credits I'll be taking this Fall.
And AT LAST, I will also have Sophomore Review in the Fall. It's a review of all of the work from my fundamental requirement courses: Drawing 1 & 2, Funadamentals of Art 1 & 2, and History of Western Art 1 & 2(isn't involved with soph review). I've taken all 6 of these classes this year, and so am ready for the review. I didn't know this until well after the fact, but I could have had sophomore review this semester since I am done with them, but it would have been far more stress & things to have to take care of than what I could've dealt with this semester. Now I just keep everything from those classes, finish any that are incomplete, work on pieces to replace one or whatever to meet requirements for that specific class, and to include any post-high school work I've done. I'll be trying to organize and deal with everything for that this summer so there's less worry through the semester.

Canon Rebel XSiI was able to buy my first DSLR camera this week.
It's a Canon Rebel XSi, 12.2 mp, 3'' LCD, 3.5 frames/sec, and an 18-55 mm image stabilizer lens that came with it. And as part of the Best Buy deal that I got, I also got another image stabilizer lens that's 55-250 mm and a Lowepro camera bag. The deal was $879.99 plus tax, so it was $950.37 total. I feel that it was a good buy. I hope it is. I couldn't afford to get a memory card for it, though, because we didn't have enough money on us after buying the camera deal. I'm content with finally having the camera at the moment, though. I can wait a little bit for the card. I wish I could afford the insurance stuff they offer for the cameras, which is like $200.

Thanks for breaking the elevator!
... -.- Enough with the bloody elevator...
...Have you had a chance to look at the stuff on the CD &/or DVD of Summer Arts stuff? I'm not very happy with the CDs. I'm not knocking the photography work I did or anyone else, but Idk, it just lacks. What do you think of it all, though? I might pick out a few photos I took & post them on here, not sure yet...
...Are you coming back for the exhibit thing on Wednesday night?...

Not that anyone really cares except yourself...the kids will be happy just to see themselves and their friends.
And of course I am coming back Wednesday, why wouldn't I?
...If I attempt to do that job again or if I know someone else is hired to do it, there's definitely going to be some changes for how things are done...
...I noticed the probe9.com link on your profile info. I want to know more...

You want to know more? About what? Probe9 is just the domain where I throw up my lack of a website. I've scrapped so many ideas for the site I eventually just stopped thinking about it.
